What do we believe in ? A Business that is force for good.

• caring for our local environment by removing marine litter ( we were previous finalists in 'The Keep NZ Beautiful Awards')

• working with our local care group on pest control, removing invasive plant species and planting natives

• growing and sharing food from our land; avocados, bananas, limes, olive oil. Expect home produced food on our tours.

• avoiding single use plastics in all aspects of business

• supporting charities with a local connection such as Relief Aid NZ, Hospice Whakatane and raising funds / donating to a number of  cancer charities.

Business owner/operator Kenny McCracken first fell in love with the Eastern Bay of Plenty whilst hitch hiking around New Zealand in 1990 and returned with his family to live there in 1995. Now based on the shores of the enchanting Ohiwa Harbour close to the Maori village of Kutarere, KG Kayaks has evolved to become a mobile operation, providing the freedom to launch from a number of venues around the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

Lizzy is the wonderful creator of the cakes and muffins that you can expect on all our Guided Tours, while Barry Cutfield skippers his catamaran Centaurus on Whale Island Trips.
